FIFA's Record Prize Money

FIFA has set a record-breaking $50 million prize for the winner of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. That's approximately 8% more than the amount awarded to the 2022 World Cup champions in Qatar.

Under an agreement between the players and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the squad will receive 45% of the prize money. In total, the players will share approximately $22.5 million, or roughly 20 million euros.

As a result, each Spain player would earn more than 755,000 euros before taxes. Even after taxes, it would remain one of the largest performance bonuses ever paid in Spanish football.

What Happens If Spain Loses the Final?

Even if Spain falls short in the final, the players will still receive a substantial bonus. FIFA will award $33 million to the runner-up. Under the existing agreement, the players would receive 40% of that amount, while the remaining funds would stay with the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
